Individual Assignment: Term Paper

The goal of term paper is to understand and discuss an industry trend in relation to software engineering. Therefore, each student shall write a term paper, discussing one of the following topics that have been assigned.

In addition, you should prepare a 3 slide presentation: Based on three titles; slide 1: introduction, slide2: what you have learned, slide3: takeaways for others (please use the template for the presentations here: CENG396 termPaper

This task is 15% of your overall grade. Please note that a mark of "I" (incomplete) can be given by the instructor if you did not submit the assignment.

Grading Criteria and Submission Requirements:

  • Form a single title page with your student ID, the title of your paper, and the word count. the title of your homework, and include the total word count. The title page should include student's signature with nonplagiarism form. You can sign it and scan it if you like. (%60 penalty if missing)
  • A minimum 2000 to maximum 3500 word manuscript is required, which should be not more than 8-10 pages long, 12 points Times New Roman font, lower case, single-spaced.
  • The paper requires an introduction, a body and a conclusion.
  • At least (minimum) 10, and max 30 relevant references needs to be cited.
  • The student’s arguments and conclusions shall be supported by facts.
  • The paper is submitted by X, 20XX.
  • ONLY Submission via webonline will be accepted. DO NOT email me your work!
  • Only electronic submissions in PDF format will be accepted.
  • Please see the GradingRubric before you start writting.

Please find your working title and consult your instructor if you want to change your topic.

Please note that still you can switch to a different topic you may like to conduct research.
